Late Update

So i didn't get to the update on time again. I did manage to finish most of the features I wanted to add to the level editor for the week. Unfortunately, homework has lined up in a way where I haven't done anything on the project since last Thursday. This week is looking the exact same.

When i get to start up again, I'm going to start work on the object(monster, item,w.e) creators that will accompany the main map editor.

Wednesday Update #3

At this point for my level editor, platform options are pretty close to done along with map saving and loading. After I do a few tweaks and additions ill be ready to move on to object creation (enemies, items, gadgets, and whatever else i need to put in the maps).

Sadly this might take awhile because there is a rather large and incomplete list of features i need to include in object creation. There's also the problem of school in which I have finally been given a programming assignment.

If not much gets done this week blame the N-body problem.

Weekly Update

I missed Wednesday for the update.

Unfortunately this was a homework week and I didn't get much done. The good news is that the hw queue is clear for the weekend.

I leave everyone this week with Ponies and ponies and ponies and ponies and ....

Pony vs. Pony  <--- you really must play this it is most entertaining. (I wish my project was this far D= )

Wednesday Update #2

I was really hoping to post before today. The problem about always being tired is that you're always tired.

Anyways, there actually is progress on the project. The framework for platform adding and editing is 90% there. I just need to add layer changes and fix a few bugs. Here's a screen of the editor as proof i'm working on it.

The editor is definitely function over form for now. Do not panic over the lack of pony, they will arrive when the time is right.

Wednesday Update

From this point on, my routine update posts will happen on Wednesday. This is the one day of the week i'm not away from home for 9 hours or more.

School has started this week and for the most part everything looks healthy for the project. The good thing about math oriented classes is that they tend to not have projects.  Even if a larger assignment shows up it won't be murder like the MORPG i had to program last year.

Speaking of the MORPG, I might post screens as a sort of proof that I'm capable of making things.

Notes on Project Pony: I did a bit of work on platform editing but most of this week has been dedicated to emptying the homework queue. The weekend should be clear for more progress.

Banner Update

I finally managed to get the banner for the blog done tonight. Turns out that i'm terribly slow at the whole art thing. Especially when it comes to creating art in ms paint.

Within the next week i hope to quit stalling on fixing the level editor. If I spend as much time coding as I did making the banner there will be substantial progress.

Introduction

Hello to anyone who manages to find this piece of internet obscurity in its early form.

I am a CS student entering what hopefully is my final year of school (if scheduling cooperates). Over the last summer, a mixture of boredom, curiosity, and the internet led me to become a brony. I'm actually still not sure how it happened. What i am sure about is that PONIES ARE AWESOME *twitch*.

Anyways, as a fan of "all"(really only FiM) things pony, I have started development on a game that i hope will be awesome. The game will be a 2D platformer/rpg hybrid and will star all of the mane six. Currently all i have are a notebook full of design ideas and a partially done level editor but i hope to progress soon.

This blog was created in order to share progress on the game and hopefully motivate me to keep a consistent work schedule on it. As of now there is a profound lack of ponies on the blog so i'm hoping to have a banner ready in the near future.
